KNIFE FOR GRAFTING

Those who own fruit trees know that to make them grow and multiply it is necessary to organize themselves to make grafts.

Generally we dedicate ourselves to them in the spring period.
One of the many methods used is the so-called "whistle graft".
First of all, you need to act in the right period, generally 15 days before the plant awakens.
Cut the shoots (young branches).
You will realize that they are ready when, by rotating the bark a little, it manages to detach itself from the stem.
You need to make cylindrical rings of bark with gems attached, at most two.
At this point, get close to your sucker, which is the young plant of the fruit tree.
It must have a trunk of maximum 3 cm for the success of the pipe graft; otherwise you have to resort to other grafting methods.
Now cut the sucker at the height where the diameter of the aforementioned bark ring fits perfectly.
Now remove the bark from the sucker and replace it with the ring of bark obtained previously, lowering it until it is completely adherent to the stem. You will hear the starch of the plant fizz.
Be careful not to let it go down too much otherwise it will break.
Your graft is done!
Now all you have to do is wait about 20-30 days and go and check its success.
If any gems have emerged, the outcome is positive.
In case it has dried up, then it is negative. Good luck!
