MXS 5.0 is an advanced microprocessor battery charger and maintainer with automatic temperature compensation and unbeatable performance for lead-acid batteries (AGM/GEL/WET/MF/Ca-Ca) from 1.2 up to 160 Ah. MXS 5.0 can solve numerous battery-related problems and is ideal for the most demanding applications.

Among its many features, MXS 5.0 includes diagnostics to check whether the battery is able to accept and hold a charge, a patented automatic desulfation phase and a special phase for reconditioning stratified and deeply discharged batteries.

The AGM option is ideal for maximizing the performance and life of most stop-start batteries. Built-in temperature compensation ensures optimal charging performance even in extreme conditions. Thanks to the patented pulse maintenance method, MXS 5.0 is ideal for long-term maintenance. The entire process of testing, charging and maintaining the battery can be followed easily on the LED display.

MXS 5.0 is a fully automatic 12V battery charger with 8 charging stages and selectable small and normal battery programs. For maximum convenience, the RECOND and AGM options can be combined or used separately in both the small and regular battery programs. The great versatility allows the charging of all types of lead-acid batteries from 1.2 to 110 Ah and the maintenance of batteries up to 160 Ah. Splash and dust proof (IP65). MXS 5.0 is easy and safe to use, is designed not to damage vehicle electronics and is spark-proof, reverse polarity-proof and short-circuit proof. MXS 5.0 comes with a 5-year warranty.

Charging and maintenance phases

Phase 1 DESULFATION:
The voltage pulses remove sulfates from the lead plates of the battery restoring its capacity.
Phase 2 SOFT START:
Check if the battery can accept the charge. Charging starts if the battery is OK.
Phase 3 MASS:
Recharge with maximum current up to 80% of battery capacity.
Phase 4 ABSORBIMENTO:
Charging with decreasing current up to 100% of the battery capacity.
Phase 5 ANALYSIS:
Check if the battery can hold a charge. Batteries that are unable to hold a charge may need to be replaced.
Phase 6 REFURBISHING:
Recovery function for deeply discharged batteries.
Phase 7 FLOATING:
Maintains battery voltage at maximum level with constant charging voltage. This phase is timed and lasts at least 10 days if the battery is kept in a state of relative rest.
Phase 8 MAINTAINIMENTO:
Maintains battery at 95-100% capacity. The charger checks the battery voltage and provides a pulse when needed to keep it fully charged. This phase is activated no earlier than 10 days from the start of charging, and is designed for long-term maintenance.
